IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW
This document sets out important information about The Lending Pad’s financial advice service. It is important that you read it carefully to ensure you understand it. Please contact your LENDING PAD adviser if you have any queries.
Licensing Information
THE LENDING PAD Limited (FSP733531) trading as THE LENDING PAD is authorised to provide financial advice under a license issued by the Financial Markets Authority to New Zealand Financial Services Group (NZFSG – FSP 286965). The following advisers also trade as THE LENDING PAD and are authorised under that licence to provide financial advice.
If you wish to view THE LENDING PAD’s registration and licence, please go to the Financial Service Providers Register https://fsp-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz and search our company Financial Service Provider (FSP) number FSP733531. As a licensed Financial Advice Provider, NZFSG has standard conditions to our licence. There are no conditions specific to THE LENDING PAD nor limitations or restrictions on the advice that may be given.
Nature and Scope of our Financial Advice Service
THE LENDING PAD provides advice about Lending. Our financial advisers provide financial advice in relation to these financial advice products. We only provide financial advice about products from certain providers.
For Lending, we are accredited with 20 companies:
ANZ, ASB, BNZ, SBS Bank, Westpac, Heartland Bank, TSB, Co-operative Bank, Avanti Finance, Resimac, First Mortgage Trust, NZCU, Select, ASAP Finance, Cressida, DBR, Pepper Money, Southern Cross, Sovereign (AIA) and Liberty Financial.
Fees or Expenses
THE LENDING PAD does not charge fees, expenses or any other amount for the financial advice provided to clients except in the circumstances set out below and agreed in advance with the client. THE LENDING PAD may charge a fee for the financial advice provided to a client where a client cancels a Lending contract within two years of inception. Whether a fee will be charged and the way it will be charged will be advised when the advice is provided to the client.
Conflicts of Interest and Incentives
THE LENDING PAD and the associated financial advisers receive commissions from the Companies on whose products we give financial advice (the lenders). If you decide to take out Lending, the provider will pay a commission to THE LENDING PAD and to your financial adviser. The amount of commission is based on a percentage of the total lending amount. From time to time, product providers may also reward us for the overall business we provide to them. They may give us tickets to sports events, hampers, or other incentives.
THE LENDING PAD’s adviser Ryan Nel has a financial interest in the business of THE LENDING PAD as a Shareholder of THE LENDING PAD Limited. Any issue regarding payment of dividends or other distributions to The Lending Pad shareholders by THE LENDING PAD Limited has no effect on the service provided.
To ensure that the advisers prioritise your interests above their own, The Lending Pad operates a comprehensive and robust framework with policies and procedures. The adviser follows an advice process that ensures the recommendations made are based on your goals and circumstances. The Lending Pad Financial Advisers undergo an annual compliance review and receive training about the policies and procedures including how to manage ‘conflicts of interest’. In addition, the Lending Pad maintains and monitors a register of ‘conflicts of interests’, and the gifts and incentives received.
